Privacy. The short version is short.

fwdslash is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website. This policy covers this website and the enquiries you send us through it. Reach us, and our information officer, at hello@fwdslash.dev.

Only what you choose to give us:

• Project enquiries (the Ping form): your name, email, company if you give it, what it’s about, and your message.
• Partner requests: your name, email, company, the kind of team you are, what you need, when you’d start, and your description of the project.
• Email: whatever you include when you write to us directly.

We don’t ask for ID numbers, bank details or home addresses. Please don’t send confidential details about your clients through the forms: that’s what the NDA is for, and we sign it before you share them.

To reply to you, scope the work and send a quote, and, for partner requests, to see if we’re a fit and set up the NDA and a call. If we end up working together, we use your details to run the engagement.

We don’t add you to mailing lists, sell your information, or use it for anything else. We process it because you asked us to get back to you, and, once we work together, because the contract needs it.

Our team, and the providers that host this website and our email, who handle it on our behalf and only for that. Nobody else, unless the law requires it.

If you’re a partner, we never contact or share anything with your client.

Our hosting and email providers may store information on servers outside South Africa. We only use providers bound by data protection laws or agreements that give it protection comparable to POPIA.

Enquiries that don’t turn into work are deleted after 12 months. If we work together, we keep what the engagement needs for as long as it runs, then only what the law requires us to keep for business and tax records.

This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics, or advertising and tracking scripts. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running, not to track you.

Access is limited to the people who need it to reply to you or do the work, on accounts protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.

Under POPIA you can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, or to stop using it. Email hello@fwdslash.dev and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled it, you can complain to the Information Regulator.

If we start collecting anything new, we’ll update this page first and change the date at the top.
